What's the design about?
Drawn from a piece of vintage enamel jewelry found in Lecce — the iridescent shift comes from a hand-applied pearl finish, not a print or coating. The butterfly is meant to be quiet, not loud. Something you reach for, not something that reaches for you.
What's the chain length?
19 inches, the standard collarbone length. Sits just above the neckline on most people, low enough to show but high enough to layer.
How should I care for it?
Wear it daily, including in the shower.
We'd avoid chlorine pools, saltwater, and harsh cleaning products where you can. They shorten the lifespan of any sterling silver, not just ours.
A soft cloth and a few seconds restores the shine when it dulls.
Will it come gift-ready?
Unfortunately not. We've received feedback and we're currently working on getting a gift ready, no rewrapping required, option.

What is BMS_Italy?
BMS_Italy is a group that watches and counts butterflies across Italy.
Volunteers walk set paths, record the butterflies they see, and share the data with scientists.
This helps people understand which butterfly species are doing well, which are in danger, and where nature needs more care.
When will it arrive?
Exact shipping is calculated at checkout, and as of right now all orders are made-to-order. Once the order is shipped, expect 3–5 business days in the US, UK, and EU. 5–8 business days for Australia, New Zealand, and the rest. Tracking sent the moment it leaves the studio.
Does it layer well?
Absolutely. The delicate chain and 19-inch length make it sit well above or below other pieces. Pairs equally with silver and gold.
What's the silver?
925 sterling silver, the same standard used by most fine jewelry. Hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and won't react with your skin.
The Pearl Butterfly began with a piece of vintage enamel jewelry I found at an estate sale in Lecce.
The iridescence on the wings had nearly faded after a century.
But the surviving fragments caught light when held to a window in a way I'd never seen reproduced in modern jewelry.
This piece is my attempt to bring that quality forward.
